Ariel Clark is one of California’s longest-serving and best-respected cannabis business attorneys. When the idea of a cannabis business law was often considered an oxymoron, she dedicated her practice to this emerging industry in 2010—foresight that was recognized in 2017 by Rolling Stone which named her one of 18 “Women Shaping The Culture of Tomorrow.” Founding partner of Clark Neubert LLP, a women-owned and run law firm, exclusively focused on the cannabis industry, represents retailers, growers, manufacturers, investors, and other established and emerging cannabis businesses across California. With offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Santa Cruz, the firm helps clients execute complex political strategies, obtain licenses, set up proper

business structures, and interface with local and state officials. Ariel earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She founded and serves as Chair of the Los Angeles Cannabis Task Force, is the attorney to the Cannabis Business Council of Santa Barbara County, and serves on the legal committee of the California Native American Cannabis Association. Ariel is also an active member of the National Cannabis Bar Association, California State Bar and Beverly Hills Bar Association. She serves on the board of California NORML, the policy committee of the California Grower’s Association, and is an active member of the National Cannabis Industry Association and the California Cannabis Industry Association.

 

Dr. Sandra Carrillo is a Medical Doctor, and Medical Cannabis Expert: Dr. Carriool graduated as a Doctor in Medicine (MD) in 1997 from the Universidad de Ciencias de la Salud CES, Medellin, Colombia.  She worked in ER (Emergency Room) and as a GP (General Practitioner) in various Hospitals.  She completed her Post Doc Master in Esthetic Medicine from the Universidad Illes Baleares, Spain.  Subsequently she earned a Certification as an Esthetic Medicine Specialist in Buenos Aires Argentina. She also earned a certification as Specialist in Anti-aging Medicine from the Unione Internationale of AntiAging Medicine (France), and holds many other certifications. After developing an interest in Cannabis Medicine, she completed her Master’s Degree in Health Care Management in Universidad Latina of Panama.  During the last few years, she has dedicated herself to the study of the use of Canabinoids in Medicine, obtaining a Certification as an expert in Cannabinoid Medicine from Pharmacology University in Puerto Rico, and she is also certified in Cannabis Medicine from Oaksterdam University in California. She is also a member of ICRS (International Canabinoid Research Society), and a member of IACM (International Association for Cannabinoid Medicine) Dr. Carrillo is a leading advocate in Panama for the Legalization of Cannabis for Medicinal Purposes. She appears as an expert witness during numerous sessions held government Assembly Health Commission responsible for drafting and implementing the legalization of cannabis for medical use. The proposed law is awaiting approval. In Panama, Dr. Carrillo has made numerous appearances on the most popular TV talk shows, News Channel reports, Radio and print media advocating for the Legalization of Cannabis for medical use. Dr. Carrillo has appeared as Speaker and lecturer at various conferences including Cannatech 2019 Panama and ExpoCannabiz Cartagena.  At the Faculty of Medicine, University of Panama, she was a key note lecturer to a combined class of students, faculty members and other interested medical professionals. She will be presenting over the next 6 months in Brazil, Mexico and Germany as an expert in applications of cannabinoids to medical practice. She is a passionate on need for more in-depth research into cannabinoids since she strongly believes it is essential to gather more data and scientific evidence.  She currently leads the  SCIENTIFIC AND MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD for Savia Andina Organics, and is Senior Medical Advisor to  The Green Mile SAS. Dr. Sandra is an active volunteer for different charities and foundations such as an epilepsy children’s foundation in Panama. Moreover, in 2014, she was a co-founder of the highly successful Banco de Alimentos, Panama’s first and only food bank. Dr. Carrillo’s main goals are to educate Doctors on the benefits of Cannabis Medicine and conducting research for creating better medical grade products for patients.

 

Madison Margolin is a New York/Los Angeles-based journalist on the cannabis beat. She is the features editor at Civilized, Freelance journalist for Rolling Stone, Playboy, Vice and is also co-founding a magazine on psychedelics that's launching this summer called DoubleBlind. Madison writes feature articles on pot policy, science, culture — and yes, also on women's issues and female leadership within the cannabis space.

 

Felicia Carbajal, Executive Director, The Social Impact Center: Felicia is a native California Latinx values-based community organizer, social entrepreneur and cannabis patient who’s been affected by the justice system. They have over two decades of experience in California’s cannabis market, getting their start in both the LGBTQ liberation and the medical cannabis movement. Felicia has consulted on numerous cannabis brands, and is a trusted resource for the Autism, LGBTQ, Latino and disabilities community when it comes to the potential of cannabinoid therapies. They currently are the Community Engagement Director at Smart Pharm Research group and are on the Board of Latinos For Cannabis.

 

Amanda Chicago Lewis writes about marijuana and the war on drugs, with an emphasis on public safety, the influence of special interests, and the ways in which the documented racial disparities of drug law enforcement are being cemented into the details of legalization. She writes a biweekly column for Rolling Stone. Her work has also appeared in GQ, BuzzFeed News, Vice, LA Weekly, Pop Up Magazine, and the LA Review of Books.

 

Anna Duckworth is co-founder and editor-in-chief at Miss Grass—an elevated content and e-commerce platform for women and cannabis. Her career in media and editorial spans magazine, radio, film, television and branded content. She is the former head of content at cannabis brand dosist, managing editor at The Alpine Review magazine, and co-founder of Buckslip—a weekly newsletter named by Bruce Sterling as one of the best of the year in Wired. As a cannabis advocate, certified pilates teacher, and all around self-care enthusiast, Miss Grass is the ultimate manifestation of Anna’s divergent preoccupations—wellness, media, cannabis, and the good women who make it all go round. She is based in Venice, by way of the Great White North (read: Toronto).
