Michael Bumgarner is the Founder and CEO of Cannuka the medically inspired premium skincare line that combines two powerful ingredients, CBD and Manuka honey. After witnessing firsthand the decline of the “family farm” Michael began to look for opportunities to maintain and improve the lives of local communities and farmers. Having grown up on a farm himself he knew the impact that industrial hemp could have in creating a sustainable livelihood for farmers and from that discovery, Cannuka was born. Michael has spoken at numerous events such as Foundermade and Well + Good and is a firm advocate for industrial hemp, the topical skin care benefits that it has, educating the canna-curious consumer, as well as the positive impact that this growing industry can have on the local farm. Since Cannuka launched a little over two years ago, the brand has been covered in distinguished media outlets such as Forbes, New York Times, Vogue, Allure, Well + Good, and numerous others. He has been tapped as a thought leader in the space by outlets such as Cheddar.com and [one more]. In addition to being distributed both online and offline in stores across America Cannuka was also the first CBD skincare line to launch in 1200+ Ulta Beauty retail stores, making it the largest CBD product launch in history. Michael is a serial entrepreneur who has sold and built two other companies before launching Cannuka. He graduated from Virginia Tech and resides in Columbus, OH with his wife Kelly, a PA-C in dermatology, and their three children.
