Dana Golden, Vice President, North America Sales and Marketing, Synacor: Dana Golden brings over twenty years of sales and marketing experience in cable and digital media including roles as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Comcast Interactive Media, General Manager/VP of CelebTV.com at Intersport and Vice President of National Accounts at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. Prior to joining Synacor, Dana was Executive Vice President of Silver Chalice responsible for content licensing and business operations of three OTT digital networks: 120 Sports (now relaunched as Stadium), Campus Insiders and the ACC Digital Network. With experience licensing content (ESPN and Stadium),

launching a streaming service (CelebTV.com and Stadium), acquiring content (Comcast) and licensing TV Everywhere technology (Synacor), Dana has experience on all sides of the digital content ecosystem. Dana has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Penn State University and resides in Buffalo, New York with her husband and three children.

 

Daniel Tibbets, President-GM, El Rey Network: With more than 20 years of entertainment programming and producing experience, Daniel Tibbets serves as President and General Manager for El Rey Network, overseeing day-to-day operations for the Latino infused entertainment brand that revels in the courage, capacity, and creativity of ordinary people on extraordinary journeys. Spearheading the overall growth of El Rey, Tibbets manages digital expansion, content strategy and development, program planning and scheduling, productions, acquisitions, talent relations, ad sales, business affairs and business development. Tibbets most recently served as Chief Content Officer at Machinima where he was responsible for the programming organization, including content strategy and development, program planning and scheduling, production, acquisitions, and business affairs. Prior to Machinima, Tibbets was Senior Vice President Digital Media for Bunim/Murray Productions and led Bunim/Murray’s digital department including developing short-form programming for the web, mobile devices and other online and connected device distribution platforms. Tibbets joined Bunim/Murray after six years serving as Studio Chief at GoTV Networks where he oversaw all programming, development, production, and licensing of video content for mobile and broadband, as well as new distribution models. Tibbets led GoTV Studios to become the largest producer and distributor of original video content accessible to mobile users in streaming and on-demand formats on all U.S. based wireless carriers, mobile operating systems, as well as for online and internationally.  Before joining GoTV, Tibbets held the position of Vice President, Production at Twentieth Television, and oversaw FOXLAB, Inc. While at Fox, Tibbets developed a number of successful television programs including the first convergence program to air on broadcast television, “Classmates” with Classmates.com. Tibbets is also credited with creating the "mobisode™" including Executive Producing the first two original content mobisodes™ Love and Hate and Sunset Hotel (winner of the Golden Eagle Award for Excellence). Previously, Tibbets served as Vice President, Entertainment for Fireworks Television, where he developed live-action dramas for syndication with Tribune Entertainment and children’s half-hour series’ for Nickelodeon and NBC/Discovery Kids. Tibbets was also responsible for the U.S. sale of the eight-hour miniseries Robocop: Prime Directives to the Sci-Fi Channel as well as the two-hour MOW Stolen Miracle to Lifetime. From his work at Papazian-Hirsch/Rysher Entertainment Tibbets is credited with the development and sale of the HBO series “ROME” and television films A Mother’s Testimony and Determination of Death for Lifetime and Face Value for Court TV. Earlier in his career Tibbets served as a writer and producer on a number of notable television programs and specials including the Emmy-Award winning Streetwise, World Champions of Golf and BuzzTV, and the BBC/PBS mini-series Signs and Wonders starring James Earl Jones. Tibbets has produced and/or contributed to the production and development of other award-winning, made for television series, including: Martha Stewart Living, Bob Vila, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Psi Factor - Chronicles of the Paranormal, News for Kids, The Extremists, George Michael’s Sports Machine, America’s Most Wanted, Good Day Live, Judge Alex, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest, and many others. Tibbets has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with an emphasis in International Marketing and Business from Arizona State University. Tibbets is Co-Founder of e-publishing company Premier Digital Publishing, orchestrating a successful exit in 2012.

 

Tyler Winton, Vice President Business Development, TiVo: Tyler Winton works to connect the media and entertainment industry with transformative technology solutions with a goal of creating the ultimate entertainment experience.  Tyler has engaged the market as a panelist, consultant, account manager, solutions seller and a thought leader.  Currently Tyler is most interested in the ways that data will enable deeper personalization of the entertainment experience.  Tyler holds a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.

 

Kayvan Ghavim is the Head of Content Development and Brand Strategy at Vertical Networks, the world’s leading mobile-first content studio that produces daily editorial and video properties driven by real-time insights. In his role, Kayvan leads Vertical Networks content team and executes a data-drivencreative strategy to enhance mobile viewing experiences. Prior to joining Vertical Networks, Kayvan served as the Director of Video at Mashable, where he was responsible for all editorial video content across Mashable’s video channels including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat. Previously, Kayvan was Director of Branded Content at Defy Media, managing branded videos, and Senior Creative Producer at BuzzFeed, producing and directing branded entertainment. Kayvan moved to digital content development after four years in traditional advertising, leading broadcast campaigns for Sony, Microsoft, AT&T, EA and more. Kayvan started his career with CNET, leading entertainment projects, prior to the acquisition by CBS. Kayvan has a B.A. in English Language and Literature/Letters and a B.A. in Film Studies from the University of Utah, and an MFA in Motion Picture and Television from Academy of Art University.

 

Seth Shapiro, CEO, AlphaNetworks: A two-time Emmy® Award winner Seth Shapiro is a leading advisor in business innovation, media, and technology. He is an Adjunct Professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and has served as a Governor of the Television Academy and member of its Executive Committee. His clients include The Walt Disney Company, Comcast, DIRECTV, Intel, AT&T, IPG, NBC, Showtime, RTL, Telstra, Universal, Slamdance, Goldman Sachs, government bodies, and a wide range of startups. In the blockchain space, he is Head of Strategy at VideoCoin.io, Head of Business Development at Alphabit Digital Currency Fund, and an Advisor to projects including KodakCoin, WorkCoin, Verses, and EBoost. Shapiro has been quoted in outlets including The Economist, The New York Times. The LA Times, CNBC, The Boston Globe, Bloomberg, The Associated Press, PBS and The Daily Mail. As Head of Production at DIRECTV Advanced Services, he launched over 25 services, including NFL Sunday Ticket Interactive and TiVo by DIRECTV, the world’s first major DVR platform. His first book, Television: Innovation, Disruption, and the World’s Most Powerful Medium, was published in 2016 and is a bestseller on Amazon.

 

Anthony Layser is vice president, partnerships and programming at XUMO, the premium television and video-on-demand service for the digital age. In this role, Layser is responsible for developing strategy and analysis used by the executive team to determine and prioritize content partnerships and potential channel partners. He assists with business development/strategy, acquisition deals, and partner management for XUMO. Layser also works across departments (product, operations, finance, legal, marketing, and advertising teams) to plan and execute KPI driven initiatives. He is tasked with driving business KPI’s through the expansion of current partnerships and the development of new business opportunities. He also leads the development of streamlined tracking documents and instruments that help maintain pipeline of current, new and prospective channel partners, and leads onboarding integrations for new partners. Additionally, Layser provides leadership and support throughout the launch and growth of channels, including program and promotional planning, scheduling and renewals. He analyzes distribution trends and forecast revenue to assist in creation of contract renewal strategy. Prior to joining the XUMO team, Layser served as the North American content vice president at Dailymotion. His role involved implementing video content development strategies and leading partner acquisition efforts. He oversaw content managers in New York City, Santa Monica and Toronto, providing creative leadership and acting as a liaison between content programmers, executives and the sales team. During his tenure, Dailymotion’s US audience grew over 500 percent (per Google Analytics). Preceding his work with Dailymotion, Layser oversaw production on over 500 episodes of the award-winning AOL-Huffington Post daily series, You’ve Got. In this role, he guided booking, creation, development, production, distribution, and social media promotion the series. You’ve Got segment views increased from an average of 10M streams per month to 15M streams per month during his tenure, and You’ve Got videos consistently ranked in the daily top five most-viewed videos on the AOL-Huffington Post network. While under Anthony’s leadership, You’ve Got received a Silver Telly Award in the Social Issues category (Silver is the highest honor). Earlier in his career, Anthony developed the video content strategy for both the men’s and women’s lifestyle networks at AOL. While with the women’s lifestyle group, StyleList.com views increased by at least 500K streams per month and KitchenDaily.com views increased by at least 150K streams per month. While overseeing video strategy for the men’s lifestyle group, video views went from 70K views per month to over 2.6M views per month on a fixed budget over a 13-month period. During this same period, Anthony produced over 300 videos, including segments that featured top-notch comedy talent, including Jonah Hill, Russell Brand, Jon Glaser, Chris Gethard, and Matt Walsh. Anthony has written for VideoInk, Cracked.com, TV Guide and TVGuide.com, Village Voice Media and Anthem magazine.
