MARQUETTA MOORE, VP, Music & Celebrity Relations, REVOLT: As VP of Music and Celebrity Talent for Revolt TV, Marquetta Moore energizes original programming, digital initiatives, conferences, awards shows, and activations by consistently identifying, booking, and bringing top-tier talent to the stage. Since joining the media juggernaut in 2013, she has ignited countless landmark events through leveraging a vast network and sterling reputation among record labels, publicists, agents, and managers. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been intrigued by award shows and events,” she explains. “I thought it was really fascinating how so many amazing people could be on one stage for one night. Talent is also the most important part of the equation. If you don’t have proper talent, there’s nothing to air. I recognized it was an integral element of any process, and I wanted to be a part of it.” Born and raised just outside of Los Angeles in San Bernardino, CA, she attended the prestigious Annenberg School for Communications & Journalism at University of Southern California. Studying the culture of the entertainment industry in class and after hours, she went on to intern at ABC Entertainment as part of the Emma Bowen Foundation—which supports minority interest in media. During 2001, she took her first full-time job as a Talent Associate at ABC. Over the course of the next decade, she worked as a Talent Associate at MTV and Talent Executive at BET Networks before becoming Broadcast Relations Director for MEETON in 2011. She spent two years at Complex Media as a Celebrity Producer Consultant, proving integral to the launch of Complex TV. 2013 saw her join Revolt in the role of Director, Music & Talent Relations. Among many highlights, she handled talent for the Revolt Music Conference over the course of four years in Miami. Often securing 25-plus acts annually, she landed performances by everyone from DJ Khaled, Khalid, and SZA to Lauryn Hill, 21 Savage, and Nas in between numerous panels. Additionally, she transformed Revolt’s SXSW house into the hottest in Austin. She would also spearhead The Global Spin Awards highlighted by choosing Snoop Dogg at the host and landing A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Metro Boomin, Usher, Pharrell, and more. Throughout her career, bookings span everyone from Mariah Carey and Bruno Mars to Skrillex, Justin Bieber, and Rihanna. Ultimately, her work incites culture-defining moments.
