Andy Bowers is the Chief Innovation Officer and Co-Founder of Megaphone (formally Panoply Media), and the creator in 2005 of Slate’s podcasting network, one of the first professional networks in the medium. He has overseen the creation and production of dozens of original podcasts, including Revisionist History with Malcolm Gladwell and The Message, one of podcasting’s first original dramas. As an NPR correspondent from 1991-2003, Bowers reported on state, national and global affairs. He served as NPR’s London Bureau Chief and Moscow Bureau Chief, a White House correspondent, and a California-based national correspondent. He’s covered numerous presidential campaigns, the wars in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Chechnya, and issues affecting California and the West. In 2003 he began producing the audio programs for Slate in conjunction with NPR.
Kristen Muller, Chief Content Officer, Southern California Public Radio: Kristen Muller is SCPR's Chief Content Officer. She oversees SCPR’s broadcast, digital, live event, news, on-demand, and programming activities. Prior to that, she was SCPR's Senior Managing Editor for News, and Senior Producer of Take Two and The Madeleine Brand Show. Kristen joined SCPR after spending more than a decade at CBS News, where she was a producer for the CBS Evening News and an associate producer at 60 Minutes II. Muller was a 2015-2016 John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University. She is the winner of national Emmy and Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards and was a Gerald Loeb Award finalist. She's filed stories for NPR and spent a year at KCRW as a Producer for Which Way L.A.? and To the Point.
Caroline Edwards is newly the Director of the Podcast Initiatives at ICM Partners; providing the talent and literary agency with focus in this rapidly growing space. In this role Edwards works in conjunction with agent teams to help shepherd ICM clients into engaging podcast formats as she oversees shows from their creative inception through the sale and launch. Prior to this Edwards supported the agency as Creative Director for ICM Politics, utilizing her background as an acting member of Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign.
Kathy Doyle is the Vice President of Podcasting for Macmillan Publishers, the only Big 5 with a dedicated podcast arm. She is responsible for audio-first programming, including the Macmillan Podcast Network, which produces popular podcasts with the organization’s authors and book imprints. Podcasts range from sci-fi and true crime to literature and biography. She also oversees one of Macmillan’s largest digital networks, Quick and Dirty Tips. QDT produces a dozen weekly award-winning audio podcasts hosted by subject matter experts on a wide range of topics. Podcasts include the long-running Grammar Girl and Savvy Psychologist. The network has a large web presence, too, which features content from the podcast hosts and a large variety of Macmillan authors. Prior to joining Macmillan, she had a long-standing career developing digital products and services for media companies, including The Wall Street Journal and American Lawyer Media.
Claire Fanning VP of Ad Innovation, Pandora: As VP of Ad Innovation Strategy at Pandora, Claire considers key market trends and requirements and lends them to proprietary ad product and format initiatives, ensuring ad offerings that solve industry-wide challenges for advertisers. As consumption trends shift – particularly in the audio space, Claire is laser focused on helping brands evolve their strategies to enable innovative paths to reaching their audience while maintaining needs for their business. Taking a consultative approach to today’s problems, Claire aims to assist marketers and Pandora in the evolving audio world and beyond. Prior to joining Pandora in early 2015, Claire spent a decade at agencies Razorfish and Digitas focused on Strategy & Analysis, Account Management, Media Planning and dedicated social and search functions. She has is a graduate of New York University and resides in Los Angeles, CA with her husband and two children.
Kelli Hurley is the VP, Digital for Westwood One, where she oversee the company’s digital sales efforts and its expanding portfolio of digital products -- including streaming audio, on demand, podcasting, and new content partnerships. An early adopter to podcasting, she is an avid fan and supporter of the platform. Hurley has led the charge in building out Westwood One’s podcast strategy and content partnerships. She has amassed a lineup of podcast content ranging from political talk to sports to comedy to pop culture -- and the list of talent coming into the fold is growing by the day. She has big expectations for what Westwood One can achieve in the podcast space and is excited about the constant evolution of this growing and emerging platform. A radio and digital audio veteran, Hurley has nearly a dozen years’ of network radio experience under her belt. She started her career in Los Angeles, successfully managing clients and agencies for iHeart Radio, Premiere Networks, United Stations, and Westwood One. In 2011, she transitioned from network radio to digital audio as a Director of Sales for TargetSpot.
Rob Greenlee, VP of Content and Partnerships, Libsyn (LSYN) and was inducted into the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame in 2017. Formerly served as VP, Podcaster Relations at Voxnext’s Spreaker. He started on radio in 1999 and then podcasting in 2004 with the first nationally syndicated radio show "WebTalk World Radio Show" to begin podcasting. He also worked as Voxnest’s Head of Partnerships and Spreaker's Head of Content. Greenlee’s prior positions have included as EVP/CTO at PodcastOne.com, Business / Content Manager of Podcasts at Microsoft Zune and Xbox Live Marketplace on Windows Phone/Zune/Windows Media Center and in 2005 was Global Content and Marketing Manager at Melodeo Mobilcast. He currently co-hosts the "New Media Show", a weekly audio and video podcast that streams LIVE on NewMediaShow.com/live, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch every Saturday morning at 9am PST/Noon EST. He is on the Editorial board for Podcast Business Journal.
