Fredrik Frizell, COO and EP of HERE BE DRAGONS (F/K/A Vrse.works), has spent more than nine years producing high profile digital, content, post, VFX, and VR projects. Since 2013, Fredrik has worked extensively with virtual reality production and produced some of the most recognized VR projects to date. In the past year, he has overseen projects working with top brands, organizations, music groups and TV shows including Mr. Robot, Stubhub, GE, Samsung, U2, The New York Times and The United Nations. Before joining HERE BE DRAGONS, Fredrik was managing director and global executive producer for Mediamonks after the digital powerhouse acquired Stopp Inc. where Fredrik was CEO and co-founder. At Stopp Inc., Fredrik produced all the major work and delivered numerous award-winning projects, including Chris Milk/Beck – ‘Lincoln Hello Again.’ Fredrik kicked off his career working for Apple, which ignited his passion for technology. He studied at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm.

 

Niko Chauls, Director of Emerging Technology, USA Today & Gannett Network: At Gannett Niko is responsible for applying emerging technologies to create experiential storytelling experiences. Virtual reality, 360 video, mixed reality and other immersive environments are his current playground. As International Programming Director at Microsoft he was responsible for coordinating global editorial initiatives across MSN in 50+ markets. Prior to that he was Director of Original Programming for MSN & Bing Video, responsible for strategy, development and production of original content franchises. He has worked for Time Warner, AOL and Netscape in various capacities but always at the nexus of journalism and web technologies. He is passionate about advancing the art and craft of storytelling, keeping chickens and small-batch bourbon.

 

Andrew McGovern, Vice President Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality Productions, Digital Domain: A veteran in virtual reality bringing over 10 years of experience in the 360°/VR industry to Digital Domain. As Vice President of VR/AR Productions he will lead all live action, VFX and broadcasting initiatives for the company's VR business. Throughout his career, Andrew has worked on a number of innovative projects including the launch of Google Street View in 2007 as well as award-winning commercial 360°/VR campaigns including "Lloyds Torchview,” the Emmy award-winning "Taylor Swift Experience,” and a number of high-profile live events for clientele such as NBC, NHL, NBA, UFC, Universal Music and many others. Prior to joining Digital Domain, Andrew made a name for himself at Immersive Media, an early pioneer in the 360°/VR imaging space. He became Vice President of the company's media and entertainment division before its acquisition by Digital Domain. While at Immersive Media, Andrew focused on many aspects of the business, from leading high-profile commercial and live productions to driving business development initiatives. Andrew brings a unique skill set to Digital Domain with his background in commercial and live productions, technology, business development and a deep understanding of the 360°/VR landscape.

 

Csilla Kozma Andersen serves as the head of content relations at Nokia, where she oversees their various products, including the newly released virtual reality camera, OZO. Prior to her current role, she served as the director of content creation at Dolby Laboratories, where she helped develop several imaging technologies for 3D and HDR, including the award winning Dolby glasses-free 3D system. Csilla has also served as a senior consultant for Deloitte, where she consulted on multinational enterprises in Europe in the areas of product strategy, sales, marketing and management, and ecommerce. She has an MBA in International Business Management from Aalborg Universitet, and a BS in Marketing from Pecsi Tudomanyegyetem.

 

Andrew Shulkind is an award-winning cinematographer best known for his creative use of innovative camera and lighting techniques.  As one of the most sought-after commercial cinematographers, Andrew shoots around the globe for a host of well-known brands including Nike, Old Spice, and Apple. Andrew’s auspicious career began as a camera operator for such luminaries as Janusz Kaminski, Don Burgess, and Emanuel Lubeszki.  Since then, Andrew and his work has been profiled in American Cinematographer, Hollywood Reporter, and Variety and has screened at festivals including the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and many others. Andrew was recently recognized as one of the industry's top emerging cinematographers by the International Cinematographers Guild and in 2014 was the first individual awarded the Studio Prime Award - a distinction reserved for manufacturers leading technological innovation in the world of film.As an innovating director of Virtual Reality Cinematography at Headcase, Andrew provides world class cinema skill sets in developing, building and operating revolutionary 360° Virtual Reality camera systems.

 

Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, Headwaters MB: Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, joined Headwaters from Nightwood Capital LLC, a middle-market boutique advisory firm that she founded in 2009. Sun focuses on Digital Media & Internet and Media Growth companies. Her experience of 20 years in investment banking includes corporate finance coverage of Media (cable and entertainment), Digital Media, Internet and Software companies at Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank , Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. Sun also has experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers. She has completed over $38 billion in public (IPOs and follow-ons) and private equity, equity-linked and debt financings and M&A transactions. Sun serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenwich (CT). She received B.A. degrees in Economics and International Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an M.B.A. of Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.
