Guido Voltolina, Head of Presence Capture, Nokia: Originally from Milan, Italy, Voltolina currently serves as the Head of Presence Capture at Nokia Technologies, the division that announced the OZO camera. He is a veteran in display technologies, having previously worked at Dolby, where he led the Dolby 3D / Philips joint project and developed the Dolby video strategy. Before that, Voltolina also held senior leadership and global marketing positions at Xpand, Intel Capital, Royal Philips Electronics and InFocus.

 

Joel Susal is the Director of Virtual and Augmented reality business at Dolby Laboratories, responsible for defining, leading, and executing Dolby’s VR and AR business lines.  Joel was hired into Dolby in 2011 to lead the company’s flagship products in the emerging tablet and smartphone space.  In this role, Joel’s product offering was widely publicized as best-in-class for audio with full adoption in the Amazon Kindle Fire HD lineup since 2012, among others.  Before joining Dolby, Joel was a founding member at Location Labs (recently acquired by AVG for $220MM), where he was responsible for defining, building, and deploying the company’s first mobile location tracking product line.  Joel holds dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania — a BS in Engineering (Computer Science) and a BS in Economics (Entrepreneurial Management) from the Wharton School.

 

Randal Kleiser's first feature Grease is the most successful movie musical ever made. Other credits include The Blue Lagoon,The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, Summer Lovers, Flight of the Navigator, White Fang, North Shore, Getting It Right, Lovewrecked and It's My Party. In 2007, his USC Thesis film Peege was selected by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Registry. Working in 70mm 3-D, he directed Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, which has been running for over a decade at the Disney Parks in Anaheim, Orlando, Tokyo, and Paris. This led to the US Government signing him to develop a 360 degree hi-def simulator to train soldiers to deal with Improvised Explosive Devices in the current war in Afghanistan. With George Lucas, he recently released a 2 DVD set, "USC School of Cinematic Arts presents the Nina Foch Course for Filmmakers and Actors". In 2010 he was elected to the Science and Technology Committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

 

Timothy Dodd, SVP, Head of Corporate Development and Strategy, Technicolor: As the Head of Corporate Development and Strategy at Technicolor, Tim leads strategy, development, and partnerships for Technicolor worldwide. Tim has significant leadership experience in digital media, having led similar teams at Warner Bros. and Time Warner Cable, focusing on business development, international ventures and digital distribution. Immediately prior to joining Technicolor, Tim was VP/GM of Neustar Media, responsible for the company’s build-out of cloud-based digital media initiatives. Tim holds a Master’s Degree from the Duke University School of Law, a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree from the University of Canterbury, and attended UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, Executive Education Program. Born in New Zealand, Tim has resided in Los Angeles for many years, and is passionate about the intersection of entertainment and technology.

 

Dr. Bo Begole is VP and Global Head of the Media Technologies Lab for Huawei R&D whose mission is to create the future of media experiences through innovations in ultra-high-efficiency compression, computer vision/hearing, 3D modeling, augmented/virtual reality, full field communications and personalized, responsive media. Previously, he was a Sr. Director at Samsung Electronics’ User Experience Center America where he directed a team to develop new contextually intelligent services for wearable, mobile and display devices. Prior to that, he was a Principal Scientist at Xerox PARC where he directed the Ubiquitous Computing research program creating machine learning technologies for user-behavior modeling, mobile location-based recommendations and responsive media.  An inventor of 30 issued patents, he is also the author of Ubiquitous Computing for Business (FT Press, 2011) and dozens of peer-reviewed research papers. Dr. Begole is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, active in many research conferences and was co-Chair of the 2015 ACM conference on human factors in computing systems (CHI 2015) in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Begole received a Ph.D. in computer science from Virginia Tech in 1998.

 

Bob Pette, Vice President, Professional Visualization, NVIDIA: Bob brings more than 25 years of experience in visualization, high-performance computing and multi-touch technologies to his role as Vice President of the Professional Visualization Product Group, which includes NVIDIA platforms and technologies such as Quadro GPUs, advanced rendering technologies, professional virtual reality solutions, and others. Previously, he was CEO of TouchShare, where he transformed the multi-touch hardware company to a SaaS software company focusing on geospatial collaboration and visualization. Prior to that, he was CEO of Perceptive Pixel, where he successfully steered the company through its acquisition by Microsoft.

 

Shawn Gold, Corporate Marketing Officer, JustFab Inc; Shawn Gold has over 20 years of experience in branding, communications planning, digital marketing and content strategy. He currently advises Wattpad.com, a social storytelling platform and one of the fastest growing mobile content sites in the world. Previously he oversaw sales, marketing and content development as CMO of Inside Studios, a video and mobile app company creating shows with over 1 billion views on YouTube and MSN. Until 2007, he was CMO, head of marketing & content for MySpace. At MySpace Gold spearheaded the development and implementation of marketing initiatives and campaigns for MySpace during its growth from 25 to 110 million users worldwide. Prior to MySpace he was a partner and the founding publisher of Weblogs, Inc., a network of popular blogs that included Engadget, Joystiq and Autoblog, now part of AOL. As head of communications planning for Rare Medium, Shawn helped launch digital communications strategies for brands at P&G, General Mills, Nestle, Mattel and other international brand marketing companies.
