Mark Vena, Worldwide VP Marketing, Sling Media; Previously, Mark was chief marketing officer at Segway Inc., where he led the launch of the company’s latest models of the company’s popular line of innovative self-balancing personal transportation devices and Segway’s SE Patroller, the company’s first three-wheeler device designed exclusively for the private security and public safety markets. As senior vice president/general manager of Synaptics' Human Interface Systems Division, Mark managed the company’s highly profitable and market-share leading line of notebook TouchPad solutions. Mark is a seasoned industry veteran and has a unique consumer and business technology vision that focuses on growth and innovation-oriented usage models. Before joining Synaptics in April 2007 as Vice President of Synaptics’ PC Business Unit, Mark was vice president of worldwide marketing at Alienware. Previously, he held senior business and product marketing management positions at industry leaders Dell, Compaq, Epson and IBM. Mark is a graduate of Boston College and enjoys the theater and watching professional sports (with Sling, of course) during his leisure time

 

Ralf Jacob, Chief Revenue Officer, Verizon Digital Media Services; Ralf Jacob oversees North American sales for Digital Media Services. Ralf brings more than 19 years of technical and executive management experience to the organization. Prior to joining upLynk, Ralf served as VP of Digital Media for Deluxe Digital Studios to guide the development of new product ideas for OTT streaming initiatives, building and conceptualizing second screen apps for major Hollywood Studios, and rolling out token based digital/e-Copy online portals for HBO, Universal Studios and others. He has been involved in key roles through the conceptual development and later execution of these projects with a track record of success. Previously, Ralf served as SVP Engineering & Operations for Move Networks, where he assumed responsibility over R&D and management of their adaptive streaming technology, used by more than 100 million users and deployed to sites such as ABC, FOX, CWTV, and ESPN. Ralf earned B.A. degrees in Marketing and Computer Science from Fachhochschule Wiesbaden, Germany.

 

Christophe Louvion, CTO, M-GO: As CTO of Gorilla Media, Christophe led product development, life cycle, and sales operations. He drove lean and agile performance improvement initiatives that helped scale the company’s services to more than 600 leading web publishers and delivered integrated media and promotion to Fortune 500 companies. His tenure encompassed technical leadership for Atomic Online, Gorilla’s high-growth sister company. At Shopzilla, as Vice President, Product Development and Engineering, Christophe led R&D for consumer and B2B web sites, SEM systems, and the Bizrate research platform. He spearheaded the company’s transition to agile development and management, enabling growth from $60MM to over $200MM in three years and leading to the company’s $565MM acquisition. Earlier, he was Architect/R&D lead for Bizrate and a Software Engineer for the US Attorney General’s Office. Christophe holds an Anvar Award from The French Agency for Innovation for his early work for Cegelec in Paris. He is a Certified Scrum Coach and a member of the Agile Alliance and Agile Project Leadership Network. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from University of Nancy I and a MS degree in Computer Science from Telecom Nancy/ESIAL. Christophe serves as an advisor and investor to several early-stage companies and is a mentor at Start Engine, supporting LA’s technology entrepreneurship.

 

Lucian Oniga, Senior Director, Business Development, Rovi: Lucian leads business development for Rovi’s Metadata business.  In his role, through creative partnerships with other data and technology providers, Lucian is enabling the development of next-generation discovery experiences powered by Rovi’s industry-leading entertainment metadata for video, music, books, and games.  Previously, he led business development for Myspace, where he successfully on-boarded onto the Myspace platform content providers and technologies in the area of both video and music, resulting in increased audience engagement and content monetization on the site.  Also, while at Fox, Lucian has participated in the creation of Hulu and Myspace Music, two ground-breaking joint ventures between content owners, which were designed to bring premium video and music content to online audiences.  Lucian has also executed partnerships and M&A for Ascent Media Group in the areas of media management and content distribution services.  Lucian holds a MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a BS in Computer Science.

 

Mark Donnigan, Strategic Accounts Development, Beamr: As a digital entertainment insider, Mark Donnigan works at the intersection of technology, strategic go-to-market planning, and ecosystem development. Mark is currently a part of the executive team building Beamr, a pioneer of perceptual image recompression technology and creator of award winning Beamr Video and JPEGmini in the Media & Entertainment space. Additional companies Mark has been instrumental with include Dune HD, an IPTV and OTT set-top box manufacturer and creator of the world's first StickSTB. VUDU, T-VOD digital distribution pioneer now owned by Walmart. MOD Systems, a Toshiba and NCR backed digital content kiosk venture. And Kaleidescape, the reference standard entertainment server with Blu-ray downloadable EST and UltraViolet support. Maintaining an active professional profile, Mark is known as an engaging and highly knowledgable moderator, keynote speaker and contributor to IPTV and OTT industry events, consortia and working groups. With a formal education in computer science and music, Mark's passion for technology, business, entertainment and music, drives him to build breakthrough digital entertainment technology, product and service companies.

 

 

Ajay Dugar, Digital Strategist, Kinected Consulting:  Ajay is currently advising clients on digital content acquisition/distribution and monetization strategies.  Until January 2014, Ajay headed up content (studio) relations and digital business development for DTS.  Previously while at Paramount Pictures, he led the digital product development team as well as the Direct2Consumer team to design, develop and launch ParamountMovies.com and was the business lead for DECE (UltraViolet).  Before Paramount, Ajay was a Director of Product Management at Hewlett Packard's Digital Entertainment Services division.  Ajay has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A. from Luther College.
