Jamie Elden, CRO-Head of Entertainment, LIN Digital:  Jamie Elden has 15 years of experience building advertising solutions and programs for major U.S. brands, and has produced several notable branded entertainment programs throughout his career.  As CRO and Head of Entertainment at LIN Digital, Elden helps develop integrated programs for its leading multiplatform network consisting of TV, desktop, mobile, and social audiences. He leads the latest entertainment-focused initiatives, including branded entertainment, content creation, and distribution.  He previously served as senior vice president of digital and branded entertainment for Alloy Media, where he led and built the strategic development of Alloy’s Digital

Network & Content division, spearheading the movement to bring brands like Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars print readership to online and beyond making it a comScore No. 1 network. Elden also was head of UEG Studios, a joint venture with United Talent Agency (UTA) of Hollywood, overseeing content development for both brands and talent. Within these roles, he developed some of the first credited and successful video, web and mobile executions in partnership with brands such as LG Mobile, Fox, P&G, Walmart, and many more.   His expertise and experience with video, content, and digital brand engagement has been widely recognized by the industry and has enabled him to share his insights at many of the leading conferences nationwide. Elden has been featured in a multitude of articles and publications such as AdWeek, Advertising Age, Business Week, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and MediaPost for the work he has done in the digital entertainment space. He is based in New York City.

 

Paul DiGiacomo, Sr. Director, Video, Content, and Advertising Business Development, AT&T: In this role, Paul is responsible for advancing AT&T's media and entertainment initiatives by identifying and putting in place key alliance and go to market partnerships. Prior to this role, Paul was Senior Director, Corporate Strategy for AT&T. He was responsible for driving strategic initiatives to broaden and align AT&T's advertising, cloud, content, mobility, and video strategies. As part of this role, Paul identified and put in place several key partnerships that resulted in revenue and margin expansion. Paul has extensive experience in product management, product marketing, business development, technical sales, and service development expertise in applications, video services, content delivery networks, IP-based video networks, M2M/sensor networks, and business continuity disaster recovery. His strong technical background matched with business development/product expertise allows him a deep and broad insight relevant to driving successful initiatives. Paul has a Masters of Business Degree in Finance and Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Computer Science/Accounting from New York University Stern School of Business.

 

John Bishop, CTO of Media, Akamai:  John Bishop is recognized as a digital media industry expert with over fifteen years of experience in broadcast and service provider markets related to digital media technologies.  John has delivered market defining solutions, strategic partnerships and core innovation that drives higher quality, increased automation, greater capacity and further monetization potential of media.  Currently John is the Chief Technology Officer for Akamai’s Media Business Unit and holds responsibility for innovation and market acceleration.  Prior to joining Akamai Mr. Bishop was the leader of Cisco’s media business in the content and service provider markets. Prior to leading Cisco’s media business led center of excellence and strategic partnership roles in the video practice within Cisco. John joined Cisco in 2011 through the successful acquisition of Inlet Technologies where John was a co-founder. Under John’s leadership and vision Inlet achieved it’s crowning accomplishment its market-leading support for adaptive bitrate (ABR) technology, which redefined the online video experience, making it accessible and enjoyable to all viewers, regardless of their bandwidth.  He is frequently featured as a speaker and expert panelist on topics ranging from video and new media technologies to business and technology ecosystems at numerous worldwide events including multiple DV Expo, Digital Hollywood, International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), and Streaming Media conferences.  Prior to joining Inlet, John served as the Director of Business Development and Product Management for Osprey Technologies (acquired by ViewCast Corporation). There, he identified and developed key market partnerships and opportunities resulting in multiple consecutive revenue growth quarters. Prior to Osprey, John spent three years at IBM where he served as a product engineer with IBM's Aptiva PC Division.   John has served on numerous media related board of directors and advisory boards.  Most recently John was a lead advisor for Digitalsmiths in their sale to Tivo and mDialog in their sale to Google.

 

Don Wilcox, Vice President, PBS Digital:  PBS has announced that entertainment industry and digital media veteran Don Wilcox has been named Vice President, Digital Marketing and Services. He will report to Ira Rubenstein, Senior Vice President and GM, PBS Digital.  In this role, Wilcox will oversee PBS.org and PBS Digital Studios, and will develop programs to help PBS stations strengthen membership at the local level. In addition, working closely with colleagues at PBS and at member stations, he will leverage emerging digital channels and platforms to promote PBS content.  “Don’s expertise in developing cutting-edge digital marketing experiences for a wide range of audiences makes him an outstanding fit for PBS,” said Rubenstein. “PBS and local member stations have been innovators using the power of media to educate and entertain for 45 years. With Don’s help, we will maximize the opportunities provided by this evolving media landscape to attract and engage audiences.”  Wilcox brings more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of television and digital media to this role. Most recently, he served as an advisor to entertainment, media and agency clients. As Vice President & General Manager of Branded Entertainment at FOX Broadcasting Company, he oversaw the operations and strategy of FOX.com, AmericanIdol.com and TheXFactorUSA.com, including groundbreaking social media initiatives and integrated cross-platform sponsorships. Prior to joining FOX, Wilcox was Executive Director, Marketing and Client Services at Sony Pictures Interactive, where he spearheaded online and mobile marketing and promotions for the full slate of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s television shows. He has also held digital leadership positions at ABC, NBC and Microsoft.  “With the PBS audience growing dramatically, both digitally and on-air, this truly is an exciting time to join the team,” said Wilcox. “I’m looking forward to helping PBS and member stations find creative ways to reach even more viewers with content audiences love and trust.”

 

Jim Flynn is President of Overlook.TV, a leading provider of niche over-the-top (OTT) TV channels. Prior to Overlook, Jim co-founded and led EZTakes, one of the first movie download companies. Under Jim's leadership, EZTakes achieved profitability, recruited over 100 film distribution companies as content partners, licensed over 8,000 feature films and TV shows, and closed a multi-milllion dollar round of outside funding. Prior to EZTakes, Jim was the Chief Operating Officer of a Pitney Bowes (NYSE: PBI) subsidiary that provides software and services for business-to-consumer electronic communications and Internet commerce. Jim came to Pitney when it acquired Alysis Technologies (NASDAQ: ALYS), where Jim also served as COO. In 1996 Jim co-founded @Work Technologies, a leading global provider of Internet billing and payment software used by numerous billion-dollar organizations, including several national postal services in Europe and Asia, to deliver electronic bills and receive payments over the Internet. Jim served as @Work's CEO until Alysis acquired the company in 1999. During his career, Jim started and built several other highly-successful technology companies in industries as diverse as document management and international banking. Jim began his career at AT&T where he held positions in sales, computer hardware engineering and software development.  Jim Flynn was the principal author of one of the first books on the Java programming language, "Visual J++ Java Programming." He earned an MBA from New York University with dual concentrations in Finance and International Business, as well as a Bachelor of Science with magna cum laude honors from Manhattan College. Jim has authored a number of patents, of which one has been issued so far.

 

Gregory Fischbach is Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Rabbit, recognized by FastCompany as one of the most Innovative Companies in Video in 2015.   Fischbach is Founder and Managing Partner of HamptonFarms Ventures, formed in the Fall of 2004. HamptonFarms advises, invests and consults with companies in technology, media, games, and entertainment.  He was Co-Founder, Co-Chairman, and CEO of Acclaim Entertainment Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company engaged in the video game business between 1987 and 2004. He served as President of RCA Records International between 1986 and 1987, and President of Activision International and a member of its Management Committee from 1983 to 1986. Greg is a member of the California Bar and holds a J.D. from The University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a BS from San Francisco State University. He served in the Peace Corps, was a Trial Attorney with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California.

 

He commenced private practice with the law firm Orenstein, Arrow, Silverman and Parcher, a firm primarily engaged in representing record companies, music publishers and recording artists. In the mid-1970s, he founded the firm of Fischbach and Fischbach around several key artists including Crosby, Stills and Nash, Thin Lizzy, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, JJ Cale, Boz Scaggs, and Gram Parsons amongst others; record labels (including Richard Branson's Virgin Records, Chrysalis Records and Mercruy Records) and music publishers and, at the same time, managed The Steve Miller Band.

 

Fischbach was one of the co-Founders of the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) and ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) in the mid-1990s, and served as its Chairman for two years. The former is the videogame industry association which acts in part as a lobbying group; the later is the industry rating board, which is a non-profit, self-regulatory body that independently assigns content ratings, and enforces advertising guidelines for the videogame industry. Mr. Fischbach served on the boards of these organizations from 1994 to 2004.

 

Fischbach is married and lives in New York.  He is a pilot, enjoys sports, and is politically active.

 

Jonathan Hurd, Director, Altman Vilandrie & Company: Jonathan Hurd joined Altman Vilandrie & Company in 2006. He has more than 20 years of consulting and industry experience in communications, media and related technology sectors. Jonathan's primary areas of expertise include business and marketing strategy, new business creation and launch, integrated consumer and business services, and customer and sales channel segmentation and targeting. Jonathan's experience in the IPTV realm includes customer targeting, partner evaluation, demand modeling, and business case development. With unique insight into competitive trends and consumer perceptions about content and communications services, Jonathan works with clients to develop differentiated video strategies. Jonathan's extensive marketing background enables him to recommend product and marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences as IP-delivered video moves towards broad adoption. Prior to joining Altman Vilandrie & Company, Jonathan was a Vice President with ADVENTIS. Before that, he was a Partner in the Communication, Information and Entertainment practice of Mercer Management Consulting. Jonathan has also served as Vice President of Marketing for a computer peripherals manufacturer, and has held marketing and strategic planning positions at Lotus Development Corporation. In addition, he has served as a software development product manager in industries including financial services, computer peripherals, video game development and management consulting. Jonathan earned a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from M.I.T., and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
