Jennifer Mirgorod is executive vice president of brand distribution for Turner Network Sales (TNS), the domestic distribution, sales and marketing arm of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.).  In this capacity, she oversees the account management team in developing strategic content distribution and marketing initiatives for Turner’s news and entertainment networks to serve distribution partners throughout the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. She is part of the team responsible for deal

renewal strategy for TNS, as well as expanding linear content distribution opportunities and developing new business models between Turner and the North American multichannel video providers. Additionally, Mirgorod oversees the affiliate marketing  department as well as Turner Private Networks. Mirgorod is based in Atlanta and reports to Coleman Breland, president of TNS.  A seasoned cable veteran, Mirgorod most recently served as senior vice president of brand revenue and account management for TNS. She held previous posts as senior vice president of sales and marketing for and vice president of strategic marketing for TNS where she worked in tandem with the TNS sales force, Turner networks marketing and operations and partnership marketing to help set the tactical direction for TNS marketing and advertising sales initiatives. Mirgorod joined TNS in 2003 from Turner Entertainment Networks in Hong Kong where, as senior vice president, regional entertainment advertising sales and off-channel commerce, she was responsible for advertising and licensing revenue generations for Turner Broadcasting’s Asian cable and satellite channels, including Cartoon Network, cartoonnetwork.com, HBO India and China Entertainment TV (CETV).  In this capacity, she managed a 46-person sales team across Australia, India, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.   Mirgorod received a BA degree in Foreign Affairs from The University of Virginia.  She is a former board member of the Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) Southeast Chapter, was a member of Class XVII of WICT’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, and participated in the inaugural class of the WICT Senior Executive Summit at Stanford Business School in 2013.  She’s also a 2004 graduate of CTAM University.  At Turner, Mirgorod is the Executive Sponsor of Turner Asia, a company-wide business resource group aimed at leveraging the talents of Asian Pacific American employees throughout the company.  Mirgorod was named as the “Woman To Watch” in 2013 by WICT’s Southeast chapter, and was honored as the national “Woman To Watch” by WICT in 2014. She was also named as one of Cablefax Magazine’s “Most Powerful Women in Cable.”

 

Beth Clearfield, SVP, Digital Distribution & Business Development, BBC Worldwide: Beth Clearfield is responsible for the development of digital media markets for BBC programs - including EST, VOD, broadband, mobile phones, and high definition. In addition, she has a central role in determining business development activities for BBC Worldwide in the U.S. including strategic/commercial partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, and new service launches. Beth was previously responsible for program supply for BBC AMERICA, and oversaw a department that serves as the central program information resource for all BBCWA sales teams in North and Latin America. A 16-year veteran of BBC Worldwide, Americas, Beth's accomplishments include the company's first deals with clients such as iTunes, Microsoft, Netflix, Amazon, Yahoo!, AOL, Real Networks, Here!, iN Demand, Azureus, and Akimbo. She worked on the conception of BBC AMERICA and BBC Worldwide's joint venture channels with Discovery Communications Inc. in Latin America. Before joining BBC Worldwide, America, Beth was Manager of the Story Department at CBS/Fox Video. She graduated magna cum laude from Yale with a degree in Economics and Political Science.

 

Richard Bloom, Vice President, Revenue & Operations, Audience Networks, Vimeo:  As VP of Revenue & Operations in Vimeo’s Audience Networks’ group, Rich oversees the global operations and revenue for Vimeo’s consumer facing content business, serving Vimeo’s monthly audience of over 170M viewers. In this role, Rich leads the team responsible for distributing, marketing and monetizing Vimeo On Demand titles from creators around the world. Rich also oversees Vimeo’s brand partnerships, where advertisers fund members of the Vimeo community to create and distribute innovative, branded video content without any interruptive pre-roll advertising.   Prior to joining Vimeo, Rich served as Chief Operating Officer of Onswipe where he was responsible for the publisher platform, operations, finance and business development.  Previously, Rich was VP, Video at AOL where he led the video strategy across AOL properties as well as running the 5min and Advertising.com Video publisher networks, and all video partnerships and business development for AOL. Rich joined AOL via the acquisition of 5min where he was SVP Business Development. Prior to 5min, Rich was VP, Business Development and Legal Affairs for UGO Entertainment which was acquired by Hearst.  Rich started his career as an attorney working in large NYC law firms where he focused on media and entertainment work.

 

Dave Baldwin, EVP, Program Planning, Starz: Baldwin is based in the company's New York City office where he is responsible for all programming planning and research responsibilities in support of the company's 17 linear channels and associated on-demand and online services. Baldwin came to Starz Entertainment after serving 31 years in research and scheduling at Home Box Office, most recently as Executive Vice President of Program Planning. Baldwin was responsible for creating strategies and producing the program schedules for the 15 HBO and Cinemax multichannel networks, inventory management of all video assets and creation of monthly menus for HBO and Cinemax On Demand, and the HBO mobile wireless platform internationally. Baldwin graduated from Penn State with a B.S. degree in Education, and holds a Masters in Library Science from Queens College.

 

Sarah Madigan is the executive vice president of Content Distribution at Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. In this position, she oversees content sales and strategy for UCI’s broadcast, cable and digital networks, including the Company’s TV Everywhere efforts. Madigan led UCI’s deal team in the successful launches of Univision Deportes, now the #1 Spanish language sports network, as well as tlNovelas and ForoTV.  Most recently she served as senior vice president of Business Affairs for the Company’s Distribution Sales and Marketing team.  Prior to joining UCI in 2011, Madigan was vice president of Distribution Business and Legal Affairs at BBC Worldwide America where she was responsible for carriage negotiations and affiliate sales strategy for the network’s distribution team. Before that, she was an associate in the Media and Entertainment Department at Greenberg Traurig where she represented a wide range of broadcast and cable networks. She was previously an associate in the Corporate Department at WilmerHale representing technology companies in mergers and acquisitions, technology transactions, licensing, securities offerings and venture financings.  Madigan earned a juris doctorate degree from Boston College Law School and a bachelor’s of arts degree in English from Trinity University.

 

Chris McCown serves as vice president of video production management for Scripps Networks Interactive. In his current role, he is responsible for evolving the video capabilities and offerings for Scripps Networks’ lifestyle media brands -- HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and Great American Country. McCown also works hand-in-hand with internal partners in research, editorial/programming, engineering, operations, project management, sales, marketing and others to continually evaluate and evolve Scripps Networks’ video platforms and product offerings. He additionally focuses on growing the company’s digital business by increasing revenue, improving customer experience and developing operational efficiencies.  McCown was previously director of CNBC’s digital products. In this role, he lead CNBC’s TV Everywhere initiatives, oversaw data driven decisions, along with managing relationships with Apple, Google and much more. He additional held positions with WeatherBug, NBC Studios, CNBC.com, NBC Inc., NBC10 and NBC6, giving him over 18 years of experience in creating and managing web, mobile and interactive TV products for major television networks, cable business news and interactive weather brands. It additionally gave him extensive experience in integrating live TV, on-demand video, real-time data, and breaking news into large-scale consumer websites and apps used by millions of customers.  He is a graduate of Evangel University in Missouri and now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife and two children.

 

Shahid Khan, Co-Founder and Chairman, Mediamorph:  Shahid Khan is an acclaimed thought leader in Media and Cable industries, with tremendous track-record of working with leading TV Networks, Publishers, Cable MSOs and Device companies to identify opportunities based on emerging platforms and launch cross-platform media plays across Over-the-top Video, Digital Music, eBooks and emerging TV Networks. Prior to co-founding Mediamorph, Shahid held senior executive positions as leading consulting firms, including Senior Partner at IBB Consulting Group, Managing Director and Head of Entertainment/Information Services Industries at BearingPoint/KPMG Consulting and Partner at IBM Global Services. Some of his clients are: Disney, Sony, Showtime, A&E, Univision, Comcast, Cablevision, Time Warner Cable and Motorola. He holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business, and is a Fellow at U. Penn’s Wharton School of Business. Shahid is well-renowned in the industry for his points of views, is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences, appears on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and is often quoted in leading publications such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the New York Times.
