Prior to joining BBC Worldwide Americas, Soumya was President and Chief Executive Officer for Palisades Tartan US and UK. At Palisades Tartan, a premier distributor of independent and arthouse cinema, Sriraman spearheaded the relaunch of the Tartan brand and increased sales against a declining market. She was named among Home Media Magazine’s 40 Under 40 executives in September 2011. Her previous position was Senior Vice President at Vivendi, Universal Music and Video Distribution¹s filmed entertainment arm and, before that, held positions at Warner Home Video and Universal Home Entertainment.

 

Jason Henderson is the Sr. Contract Manager, Video Entertainment and Marketing, for Dish Network, focusing on consumer applications to transform interactive television. Previously he ran the iTV Apps platform for Verizon FiOS TV, with responsibility for new Gaming, Music, and TV Everywhere projects. Alex Van Helsing, his popular young adult series from HarperCollins, was named by the Texas Library Association to the 2011 Lone Star Reading List, a list of the top 20 new books for young readers. He also writes for games and comics, including the 2013 BEN 10 comic miniseries from IDW and the 2013 game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows from Activision. Henderson earned his BA from University of Dallas in 1993 and his JD from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., in 1996. Henderson lives in Colorado with his wife and two daughters.

 

Karla Ballard is SVP of Participant Media’s TAG division, a social-action agency working with brands, foundations and the public sector to ignite compelling campaigns that will drive social impact Ballard oversees the client portfolio and strategic development opportunities for the agency. Prior to joining Participant Media she was with Ogilvy & Mather as the account lead for the Affordable Care Act content engagement, Tell a Friend Get Covered, supported by Covered California in partnership with the White House, Makers Studio and Funny or Die. In addition, she served as the global account lead for Sony Pictures Entertainment on rebranding and strategy engagements for Latin America. Previously Karla worked at One Economy Corporation where she managed corporate relationships with partners such as Comcast/NBC, T-Mobile, Participant Media, Sprint, City Year and others. Karla is an appointee to the United States Federal Communication Committee on Diversity in a Digital Age and managed the national Broadband Opportunity Coalition. She is a current board member of Alliance for Women in Media the Marcus Graham Project. She has been a visiting speaker at Harvard and a former board member of the nation’s second largest Community College, Northern Virginia Community College. Karla is also the co-founder of the first Urban League in the state of Delaware, The Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, and served as the first female national president of the National Urban League Young Professionals. In 2012 Karla was awarded in NYC the Keeper’s of the Dream award from the National Action Network.

 

Kurt Knutsson is best known as "Kurt the CyberGuy" having created the largest tech lifestyle content franchise on television.  He’s is a regular tech contributor on Fox & Friends, Fox Business Channel and NBC Today Show commuting from LA to NYC each week with a 15 year track record and trusted source as a daily syndicated technology reporter earning two Emmys and a Golden Mic Award.  Kurt believes when you’ve got a grip of the latest tools and technology, you will create a better life for yourself.  Public appearance opportunities in classrooms are as much fun as being invited to speak at major events. Andrew Goodman, AVP, Content & Programming, AT&T: Andrew is Associate Vice President of Content & Programming for AT&T. He is responsible for acquiring content and developing strategy for the company’s mobile platforms, over-the-top video initiatives, and digital extensions of U-verse Television. This includes online portals, wireless devices, and interactive applications. He also works closely with The Chernin Group (TCG) on AT&T’s and TCG’s new joint venture, Otter Media, focusing on OTT video investments. Andrew co-manages AT&T’s TV Everywhere and OTT initiatives to expand AT&T’s video products across multiple screens. He coordinated with a range of technology and content partners to launch U-verse Online in 2009 and U-verse Mobile in 2010. And he is exploring emerging platforms for the future. Before joining AT&T, Andrew was a manager in the technology, media, and telecom practice of Deloitte Consulting. He began his career working in film development for director Robert Zemeckis’s ImageMovers. Andrew received his MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Political Science from Amherst College.

 

Rich Goldberg, Co-President, Vertical Entertainment: Mr. Goldberg has over 20 years of entertainment distribution experience. He co-founded Cinema Products Video (CPV) in 1989, a company that specialized in the production and distribution of independent films in the domestic and international marketplaces. Mr. Goldberg sold this company in 1994 and was managing director for two years. Subsequently Mr. Goldberg and his partner bought back CPV's original library and created Mainline Releasing/Lightning Entertainment. The new company produced and acquired films that could be released theatrically overseas and were also marketable in the domestic market. Mr. Goldberg forged output, third party label deals with Lionsgate Entertainment, Anchor Bay Films and Vivendi in the US for distribution of packaged goods, while selling directly into the television, VOD and digital platforms. Mainline/Lightning distributed more than 250 films over ten years. The company was sold in 2006 and Mr. Goldberg co-managed the business for the next five years. Previous to founding Vertical, He spent the next three years as President of ARC entertainment, overseeing their entire distribution and marketing strategy on over 60 films a year, including, The Way, For Greater Glory, and Nitro Circus 3:D.

 

Shahid Khan, Co-Founder and Chairman, Mediamorph:  Shahid Khan is an acclaimed thought leader in Media and Cable industries, with tremendous track-record of working with leading TV Networks, Publishers, Cable MSOs and Device companies to identify opportunities based on emerging platforms and launch cross-platform media plays across Over-the-top Video, Digital Music, eBooks and emerging TV Networks. Prior to co-founding Mediamorph, Shahid held senior executive positions as leading consulting firms, including Senior Partner at IBB Consulting Group, Managing Director and Head of Entertainment/Information Services Industries at BearingPoint/KPMG Consulting and Partner at IBM Global Services. Some of his clients are: Disney, Sony, Showtime, A&E, Univision, Comcast, Cablevision, Time Warner Cable and Motorola. He holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business, and is a Fellow at U. Penn’s Wharton School of Business.
