Rebecca Coleman, partner and co-founder, Something Massive: Recently named one of iMedia's Top 25 Marketing Leaders and Innovators, Rebecca Coleman's creative approach gets consumers to advocate for the brands they love. Coleman co-founded her creative agency, Something Massive, in 2009. She is a fountain of ideas for agency clients, including Yahoo!, Red Bull, Yankee Candle Company, Sony Pictures, Regal Entertainment Group, American Express, Plum Organics, and The Counter. Coleman started her career in media before joining the Los Angeles-based creative agency DNA Studio in 2000. After working her way up to general manager, Coleman led the company to become an Ad Age Top 50 Interactive Agency. Coleman's creative approach was directly responsible for attracting a steady stream of clients, including AT&T, Anheuser-Busch, Best Buy, PepsiCo, and Universal Studios. In 2006, DNA Studio was sold to WhittmanHart (now Band Digital). That year, the combined agencies broke into the Ad Age Top 20 Interactive Agency list and represented the second-largest interactive agency in the U.S. Coleman stayed on for two years post-merger as general manager. Awarded the prestigious Maxwell School of Citizenship Scholarship to Syracuse University, Coleman graduated cum laude with a degree in advertising from the Newhouse School of Communications.

 

Newton Lee, Editor-in-Chief of ACM Computers in Entertainment: Newton Lee graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech with a B.S. and M.S. degree in Computer Science, and he earned a perfect GPA from Vincennes University with an A.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and an honorary doctorate in Computer Science. He has done pioneering work at AT&T Bell Laboratories, The Walt Disney Company, Institute for Defense Analyses, and Virginia Tech Library Systems, among others. He is the coauthor of "Disney Stories: Getting to Digital," author of the Total Information Awareness book series including "Facebook Nation" and "Counterterrorism and Cybersecurity," and editor/coauthor of the Digital Da Vinci book series including "Computers in Music" and "Computers in the Arts and Sciences." He is also the curator of the Springer International Series on Applications and Trends in Computer Science, creator of the Read Me First book series, and editor-in-chief of ACM Computers in Entertainment.

Dr. Gigi Johnson, Exec. Director, Maremel Institute; Lecturer, UCLA Anderson and Herb Alpert School of Music: Gigi Johnson has taught digital marketing and branding for musicians and for music organizations in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music since 2010. Until 2005, she was Executive Director of the Entertainment and Media Management Institute at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She created both its Executive Media and Entertainment Program as well as its Certificate Program in Entertainment/Media Management for undergraduates. Previously she helped launch the Center for Management in the Information Economy and was Director of the school's Applied Management Research/Field Study Program. Much of her work, both inside and outside of UCLA Anderson, focuses on technological change facing organizations. She consults and researches how leaders can positively impact technology change in their industries and within their organizations. She focuses much of her research and educational efforts around cultural industries, ranging from media to music to education. Her recent research explored narrative leadership within a non-profit educational organization: how leaders can affect technology-enhanced organizational change based on the routines and decision patterns within the organization. Dr. Johnson continues that work through the Maremel Institute as its Executive Director. Maremel, a for-profit consulting and research firm, works with small and large media and educational organizations to help them execute new strategies, marketing partnerships, and organizational transitions. She teaches in international universities' cultural industry transformation classes, including at University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) and Higher Colleges of Technology (Abu Dhabi, UAE). She also runs Maremel Media, which has produced and distributed video and audio educational media content with various partners since 2004. Dr. Johnson's corporate background includes being SVP/General Manager of two video-on-demand channels at Studio 4 Networks and SVP/Managing Director at Bank of America.
