Rick Erwin, President, Targeting, Experian Marketing Services:  Rick Erwin is a leading voice in the field of data-driven marketing and an outspoken advocate for its value in the global economy. Serving at the forefront of this industry for more than three decades, Erwin continues to play a critical role in its evolution as the head of Experian Marketing Services’ consumer insights and targeting division.  At Experian Marketing Services, Erwin is responsible for the company’s data, analytics and advertising solutions that help marketers understand, target and reach their customers across channels and devices. During the past decade at Experian, Erwin led the company’s evolution from a direct marketing analytics business to a full-service digital advertising consultancy, effectively establishing the company as the primary data and identity linkage partner for major advertisers, agencies and publishers around the world.  Erwin is also credited with what he calls “Experian’s game-changing decision” to increase investment in the company’s marketing data assets and linkage technology in order to help clients and partners change the way media is bought, sold, traded and used. Today, Experian Marketing Services’ extensive marketing data assets and services, which cover 98% of the U.S. population, are the underlying currency for valuing media and measurement within the data-driven economy. Erwin also recently spearheaded the consolidation of Experian’s disparate marketing databases and businesses to create one cohesive data, analytics and advertising business.  Prior to joining Experian Marketing Services, Erwin held various positions in the marketing services industry, including 12 years with RR Donnelley, a direct marketing and commercial printing company where he served in general management, sales, marketing and manufacturing management roles. Recognizing that the future of marketing was not direct mail, Erwin led RR Donnelly’s marketing and data services business from the ground up.  Erwin is a frequent speaker at industry events covering all aspects of data-driven marketing, such as LiveRamp’s RampUp, MediaPost’s OMMA, the Direct Marketing Associations’ annual conference and Advertising Week. He has been quoted extensively in business and trade publications such as AdExchanger, Advertising Age, AdWeek, Direct Marketing News, and The Wall Street Journal.
