Sharon Mussalli currently serves as Business Lead, Entertainment on the Global Marketing Solutions team at Facebook based out of the New York office.  Her team oversees relationships with the some of the largest names in television, focusing primarily on cable television.  Through their efforts, the team forges key strategic partnerships with television networks that contribute to their continued growth across all core initiatives. Sharon brought 14 years of tenure in the entertainment and lifestyle media space to her role at Facebook, most recently having served as Director of Digital Media at Clear Channel Media + Entertainment/iHeartRadio.  Sharon holds a BA from Tufts University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Aimee Viles, Senior Vice President, Emerging Media, Bravo and Oxygen Media:  As Senior Vice President of Emerging Media, Bravo and Oxygen Media, Aimee Viles is responsible for supervising the Emerging Media department including all Transmedia, Play Live, mobile and tablet, apps, interactive TV, gaming and other emerging media initiatives.  Based in New York, Viles reports to Lisa Hsia, Executive Vice President of Bravo and Oxygen Digital Media.  Under Viles, Bravo won an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media - Multiplatform Storytelling for “Last Chance Kitchen,” the companion digital video series to the Emmy-Award Winning “Top Chef.”  In addition, Viles has helped to build Bravo into a digital powerhouse with innovations including Bravo Now, the first ever tablet/smart phone co-viewing companion experience, Bravo Talk Bubble, the first real-time social TV event to combine Facebook and Twitter with live TV viewing and Play Live, a new form of participation TV.  Viles added oversight of Oxygen in 2014 and is focused on developing a fresh slate of digital offerings tied to the network’s recent rebrand which debuted a new look and tagline – very real.  In a network first, Oxygen debuted the popular Play Live interactive technology during the new competition series “Nail’d It.”  Prior to joining Bravo, Viles served as Director of Creative Services at Ensequence where she was responsible for building revenue generating business services for programming and advertising partners and spearheading development for new business ventures. Her clients included NBC, Bravo, MTV, Nickelodeon, ESPN, GSN, Showtime, AETN, CNN, Nike, Ford, Sony and Verizon. Earlier in her career, she honed her skills at UK-based Vodafone, where she was responsible for multi-platform content and product strategy, and at ABC Television in New York.  Throughout her career, Viles has served as an industry expert participating in numerous panels and speaking engagements including TV Experience, The TV of Tomorrow Show (TVOT) and the 2nd Screen Summit. Additionally, Viles was recently honored by CableFAX and named on their 2014 “Women in Tech” list and her team’s work has been honored with multiple Cynopsis Model D Awards, CableFax Digital Awards, and Webby Awards. Viles graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

 

Balaji Gopinath, Vice President of Emerging Technology, Turner Broadcasting:  Over the last twenty years, Balaji has worked with leading media and entertainment companies spearheading digital initiatives in global roles as a GM, SVP and VP at both private and public companies including CTP, Scient, NCR, Delivery Agent, and Nike. He was instrumental in helping launch Hotwire.com and Sephora.com among others in the dot com era.  He is a startup junkie, has been a founding member of several companies, is an angel investor, and has been involved with corporate development, corp VC, and investment roles.  Balaji earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Luc Tomasino, Director, Tablet TV: A results oriented startup executive, Luc brings 20+ years of international business experience that combines big company experience with small company speed and creativity.  Throughout his career, he has established a track record of taking international broadcast television projects from inception to sustainable success. These include Central European Media Enterprises (broadcast television), Vyvx (live news and sports backhaul), and most recently SDI Media (language localization for the film and broadcast television industries), all which ranged from $225 million - $1 billion in valuations.

 

Josh Gottheimer recently joined Microsoft as General Manager, Corporate Strategy, where he leads a team focused on competitive research and analysis and core strategic issues across the company’s products, value propositions, and investments.  Before joining Microsoft, Josh served as Senior Counselor to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission where he was a strategic advisor to the Chairman on a wide range of policy, legal and external matters, including the communications, legislative and intergovernmental functions of the agency. He was also the first Director of Public-Private Initiatives, a new team at the Commission that harnesses the power of broadband to advance key national priorities such as jobs, health care, cybersecurity, privacy, public safety, energy, and education.  This role built on Josh’s leadership in the creation of several partnerships, including Connect2Compete, a first-of-its-kind broadband adoption initiative with national digital literacy and low-cost broadband offerings; the FCC’s cybersecurity small business initiative, between government experts and private IT and security companies; a partnership with mobile carriers on the Personal Localized Alerting Network (PLAN), a new public safety emergency alerting system; and Jobs4America, an initiative that will bring more than 100,000 new and repatriated call center jobs to the U.S. over the next two years.    Previously, Josh served as Executive Vice President, Worldwide at Burson-Marsteller, a global communications firm, where, as the number two executive worldwide, he helped lead the company’s business strategy, operations, and senior client relationships. Josh also directed the Issues and Crisis Group, Corporate, Public Affairs and Media practices, and led the firm's Key Client Relationship program, comprised of top clients from around the world.  Before joining Burson-Marsteller, Josh was Director of Strategic Communications at Ford Motor Company. His responsibilities included overseeing the company’s global corporate advertising, communication strategy and message development, and supervising the Washington, DC Public Affairs operation. Between 1998 and 2001, Josh served as Special Assistant to the President and Presidential Speechwriter to President Bill Clinton. Among others, he helped draft the State of the Union addresses in 1999 and 2000 and the 2000 Democratic Convention speech. After leaving the White House, Josh was a Senior Advisor to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. In the 2004 presidential race, Josh served as Deputy Director of Speechwriting and Senior Policy Advisor to the John Kerry for President Campaign and as Chief Speechwriter to the Wesley Clark for President Campaign.  In 2008, he was an advisor to the Hillary Clinton for President campaign. Josh is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation. He was also a Thouron Fellow at Oxford. Over the years, Josh has been a regular political commentator on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News Channel.  He has also been a contributor to US News & World Report. He has published articles in the Washington Monthly, ABA Magazine, and was the editor of Ripples of Hope: Great American Civil Rights Speeches (Basic Books, 2003), a collection of inspiring speeches from five social movements in American history. In 2011, Josh published Power in Words: Barack Obama's Speeches from the State House to the White House (Beacon Press, 2011), a history and analysis of President Barack Obama's most important pre-presidential speeches.  Josh is a member of the New York State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar and the New York Economic Club.  He founded Jobs for Jersey and Business Forward to help promote jobs in the state of New Jersey.  Josh is a founder and board member of Connect2Compete, an organization that promotes broadband adoption, and is a technology policy advisor to the Clinton Global Initiative.  He is a regular visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has taught a course on the history of presidential speechwriting.  Josh was also a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University.  Josh is a member of the Rutgers Business School Board of Advisers and a board member of the New Jersey Hall of Fame.  Josh lives in Wyckoff, NJ with his wife, son, and daughter; he enjoys running, tennis, and triathlons.

 

Kevin Lange, Senior Vice President, Social Media, Starcom MediaVest Group:  As the Senior Vice President, Social Media at Starcom MediaVest Group, Kevin Lange is charged with developing, growing and leading SMG’s paid social media practice in North America. Among his responsibilities, Kevin leads the design and execution of social advertising strategies for some of SMG’s largest clients, develops and implements effective social media advertising across the video space, evaluates new technologies and manages SMG’s social technology partnerships.

 

Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic: industry luminary and former, Vice President, Digital Development & Distribution, EMI Music: As Vice President of Digital Development & Distribution for EMI Music, Ted Cohen oversaw worldwide digital business development for this "big five" record company, which includes labels such as Capitol, Virgin, Angel/Blue Note, Parlophone and Chrysalis. Under Cohen's guidance, EMI has led the industry with its initiatives in new technologies and business models such as digital downloads, online music subscriptions, custom compilations, wireless services, high-definition audio and Internet radio. In addition to seeking out, evaluating and executing business opportunities for the company, Cohen serves as both a strategist and key decision-maker for EMI's global new media and anti-piracy efforts. He has worked to establish company-wide policies, which have allowed EMI's artists and labels a substantial advantage in the digital music arena. Cohen served previously as the Executive Vice President of Digital Music Network Inc., where he co-founded and served as Chairman of the Webnoize '98 & '99 conferences. He currently chairs MidemNet, an international music/technology conference convened in Cannes each year. Cohen also held senior management positions at both Warner Bros. Records and Philips Media. Additionally, Cohen lead two highly successful new media consulting operations, DMN Consulting and Consulting Adults, attracting clients such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, Universal Studios New Media, DreamWorks Records, Liquid Audio, Wherehouse Records/Checkout.com and several other entertainment, computer and new media organizations. A 25-year industry veteran, Cohen serves on the NARAS (Grammy) Los Angeles chapter Board of Governors, the Board of Directors for the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, Co-chairs the new media arm of the T.J. Martell Foundation, and lends his time and talents to the Grammy In The Schools Program.
