Eunice Shin is a director for Manatt Digital Media, a division of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, which offers innovative full-service business consulting and legal services, as well as venture capital. She advises media, digital media, technology and emerging growth companies on business strategy, organizational priorities and business development. Ms. Shin also analyzes and assesses potential digital media and technology investment opportunities for Manatt Venture Fund, an investment fund that focuses on early-stage participation in promising companies in the digital media space. Ms. Shin is based out of the Los Angeles office. Ms. Shin's project work has included leading the assessment and strategy for customer data privacy principles for a major entertainment conglomerate, partnering with a major entertainment studio in various projects building the foundation for an end‐to‐end digital media supply chain, including metadata servicing, technical operations servicing and media management, and enabling the social analytics, digital analytics and CRM operations for the digital division of a major studio. Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Shin was the director of business development, consulting partner, and entertainment segment practice leader at Cognizant Business Consulting, where she provided business consulting to the media and entertainment industries. Prior to Cognizant, Ms. Shin was at Strategic Vision Consulting and Accenture, where she provided management and technology consulting for leading media and entertainment clients.

 

Dustin DeRolph recently became Director of Content for YouNow, a  live network that enables audiences to interact with live broadcasters based in New York City. He will lead West Coast expansion efforts through talent acquisitions and business development. In April 2011 Dustin joined Maker Studios, where he was instrumental in early efforts to scale the network through a combination of signing talent, forging strategic partnerships, creating subnetworks, and negotiating high-level acquisitions. Dustin's deal-making endeavors led to exponential growth for the company, helping to move Maker from 200-million monthly views to the billion-plus range and a top ranking on ComScore. Maker was subsequently acquired by Disney in 2014. After Maker Studios, Dustin partnered with a group of media entrepreneurs to acquire NewMediaRockstars (NMR), an online publication which focuses on the new media landscape. Dustin oversaw restructuring efforts at NMR, which was later acquired by Zealot Networks. A midwest native, Dustin received B.A. degrees in Finance and Information Systems from The Ohio State University and is currently a resident of burgeoning downtown LA.

 

Adam Goldstein is Director of Business Development for ZEFR, the leading technology partner to major media companies and brands on YouTube, where he focuses on partnering with film studios, music labels, TV networks, sports leagues, and other rights holders in both the US and Latin America. Recent partners include Paramount Pictures, Hasbro Studios, and Nintendo. Adam previously led entertainment business development and partnerships for Ustream, the leading live video platform, and was instrumental in growing Ustream's presence in Hollywood. He started his career in management consulting, working with Fortune 100 companies on international growth and innovation. A graduate of Haverford College and born and bred on the east coast, he's now proud to call Santa Monica home.

 

Byron Austen Ashley is a Talent Manager at Big Frame, a talent management company owned by AwesomenessTV, a subsidiary of DreamWorks Animation.  Byron works with dozens of influential digital-native artists, with a combined self-built audience to the tune of 15mm, to help build lucrative careers in both the traditional Hollywood and YouTube ecosystems. Byron has worked with artists to create digital series for platforms including Game Show Network's "Door 3," Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's "New Form Digital" and Google. Despite his young age of 23, Byron has built a reputation and role for himself in the Talent Management and Digital Media communities, and frequently speaks on panels with topics surrounding Digital Media.  Byron began his career producing videos with YouTube creators Dave Days and DeStorm, and was nominated for an Emmy® Award at the 2010 Chicago/Midwest awards for his work on "Prison Boat." He is a graduate of Northwestern University.

 

Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, Headwaters MB: Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, joined Headwaters from Nightwood Capital LLC, a middle-market boutique advisory firm that she founded in 2009. Sun focuses on Digital Media & Internet and Media Growth companies. Her experience of 20 years in investment banking includes corporate finance coverage of Media (cable and entertainment), Digital Media, Internet and Software companies at Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank , Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. Sun also has experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers. She has completed over $38 billion in public (IPOs and follow-ons) and private equity, equity-linked and debt financings and M&A transactions. Sun serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenwich (CT). She received B.A. degrees in Economics and International Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an M.B.A. of Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.

 

Jennifer McDonnell, VP, Partnerships, Kin Community; As Vice President of Partnerships at Kin Community, Jennifer McDonnell oversees audience growth and retention of Kin Community by working directly with Kin's portfolio of women's lifestyle creators and brands. Prior to joining Kin Community in 2008, Jennifer served as a Product Manager at Yahoo, managing development and operations in the Entertainment and Education categories. Jennifer was part of the team that developed Yahoo! Entertainment’s Brand Universe initiative, which successfully launched the World of Star Wars community fansite in partnership with LucasFilm. Jennifer has also worked on media-based health education projects for the UCLA Health & Media Research Group and the Starlight/Starbright Foundation, and as Senior Instructional Designer for Quisic, developing online education and E-learning courseware for MBA programs at Dartmouth and Oxford. Jennifer received her Master of Science in Educational Technology from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
