and Licensing in October 2011. Her role involves expanding the business through new product, maximizing distribution, creating partnerships and developing brand platforms. Prior to joining BBC Worldwide Americas, Soumya was President and Chief Executive Officer for Palisades Tartan US and UK. At Palisades Tartan, a premier distributor of independent and arthouse cinema, Sriraman spearheaded the relaunch of the Tartan brand and increased sales against a declining market. She was named among Home Media Magazine’s 40 Under 40 executives in September 2011. Her previous position was Senior Vice President at Vivendi, Universal Music and Video Distribution¹s filmed entertainment arm and, before that, held positions at Warner Home Video and Universal Home Entertainment.

 

Paul Colichman, CEO, Here Media Inc.; the world's leading multimedia company targeting the LGBT consumer. He is a well-regarded motion picture executive and producer with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Colichman and his longtime  business partner, Stephen P. Jarchow, have produced and/or distributed over 150 motion pictures and television series episodes, including GODS AND MONSTERS, which won the Independent Spirit Award and National Board of Review for Best Picture and the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2009, Here Media distributed DEPARTURES, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Here TV, a division of Here Media, also recently earned a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award nomination for the documentary 30 YEARS FROM HERE, which chronicles the 30-year battle against the AIDS pandemic. The company also garnered a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award nomination for THE RIBBON OF HOPE CELEBRATION. Mr. Colichman received a BA in Political Science and a MBA with Honors from UCLA Anderson School of Management. He has received awards from the ACLU, OUTFEST, the Stonewall Democrats and GLAAD. He was recently named one of UCLA Anderson's 100 most Inspirational Alumni.

 

Dave Baldwin, EVP, Program Planning, Starz: Baldwin is based in the company's New York City office where he is responsible for all programming planning and research responsibilities in support of the company's 17 linear channels and associated on-demand and online services. Baldwin came to Starz Entertainment after serving 31 years in research and scheduling at Home Box Office, most recently as Executive Vice President of Program Planning. Baldwin was responsible for creating strategies and producing the program schedules for the 15 HBO and Cinemax multichannel networks, inventory management of all video assets and creation of monthly menus for HBO and Cinemax On Demand, and the HBO mobile wireless platform internationally. Baldwin graduated from Penn State with a B.S. degree in Education, and holds a Masters in Library Science from Queens College.

 

John Reding, VP of Business Development, Vin Di Bona Productions: As VP of Business Development and Operations for Vin Di Bona Productions, John executes strategic deals across media and technology partners for ABC's “America's Funniest Home Videos,” including deal pipeline creation, prioritization and management and business model creation and implementation. His operations responsibilities include leading the social media, online video production and YouTube programming teams. A specialist in piloting innovative entertainment partnerships, John was Co-EP of “CuteWinFail,” starring Toby Turner, which consisted of 100 episodes on YouTube with 202+ million views. John began his career at one of Hollywood's most prestigious talent firms - the William Morris Agency (now William Morris Endeavor). Reding was promoted to an executive role and was responsible for Agency-wide new client pitches, business development, research and industry intelligence that collectively helped differentiate company services. John worked directly with Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award winners seeking to expand their businesses including: Mo'Nique, Hulk Hogan, Serena Williams, Michele Wie, Blue Collar Comedy, Wayans Brothers, JJ Abrams, Steve Oedekerk, Kevin Spacey, Garth Brooks and Courtney Cox, among many others. He has directly helped corporate clients with branded entertainment programs such as Anheuser-Busch, Mandalay Resort Group, Harrah's Entertainment, SK Telecom, General Motors and the NFL. A California native, he received a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and resides in Los Angeles.

 

Scott L Brown, SVP Global Engineering & Strategic Relations, The Nielsen Company: Scott L. Brown serves as Senior Vice President, Global Communications, Client Insights & Strategic Relations for Nielsen. In this role, Scott is a frequent speaker and sought after visionary for impending changes to the media landscape, the impact of new technology, and for the path of new advertising models. Scott is responsible for client insights and communications, strategic business relationships, and works with media strategy and digital platform development for the company. Scott focuses much of his time on establishing and managing business relationships with advanced technology and new media companies. He is the key company spokesperson for evolving television technologies, advanced metering systems, and new technology development. Scott provides the internal and external company vision and leadership for the new world of digital convergence, connected TV technology, and multi platform measurement, etc. Scott, is a veteran of Nielsen, with roots going back to Advanced Software Systems Design, progressing into Senior Operations Management, and then into his current position with Nielsen. Scott's expertise is grounded in technology, the implications for Nielsen measurement, coupled with a deep client following on what is relevant in the media world. Scott is frequently asked to forecast the future for major advertisers, and media companies. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree from Illinois State University.

 

Tiran Dagan is a partner at IBM GBS and leads its Strategy & Analytics practice for the Media & Entertainment (M&E) Industry since May 2013. Tiran has a rich background in operations, analytics and advertising/marketing. In the earlier part of his career, he worked in healthcare and medical devices ultimately launching the largest independent diagnostic facility in the North East U.S. which was sold to a VC firm in 2001. He subsequently established a boutique creative agency in NYC (digital & print design and advertising) and later joined a consulting firm in DC leading marketing operations consulting for financial services. In 2007 he was recruited by GE into NBC Universal’s internal strategic initiatives & analysis team which reported to the President/COO and worked across the divisions (parks, film, ad sales, digital, studio, cable entertainment, broadcast operations, just to name a few). Tiran’s primary areas of media knowledge are newsroom production workflows, advanced/predictive analytics, omni-channel ad sales and digital strategy. Prior to joining IBM, Tiran was the broadcast & cable sector leader for Ernst & Young’s M&E practice. In his current role he brings IBM’s vast array of research assets, software products and consulting services to the most innovative media companies in the world. Tiran is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, received his MBA from Tel Aviv University and B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics from State University of NY. Tiran resides in New Jersey with his wife and two sons.

 

Mark J. Kapczynski, Chief Operating Officer, Kontrol Media: Mark Kapczynski has a successful track record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
